Hey, I’m Mike Davis — President of Neutral Zone Clean.
Born in Detroit and now calling North Carolina home, you’ve probably seen me coaching our son Chase at wrestling tournaments or rolling with him on Jiu Jitsu mats.

My own wrestling background wasn’t anything special — but everything changed when Chase started wrestling at 5 and Jiu Jitsu at 6. Training together, traveling together, and even standing on podiums together became our thing.

But so did something else… Ringworm. Staph. Mat funk.

If you’ve been in combat sports long enough, you know the routine: missing tournaments because of a skin infection… trying to hide bandages at school… shaving a kid’s head because of scalp ringworm… and worrying about photos with visible patches.

Chase trains constantly, so he was always more at risk. We tried every product, every wash, every treatment you can imagine. Some helped — most didn’t. And as a family, we kept asking: “There has to be something better… right?”

We talked to teammates, coaches, and parents. The answers were always the same: nothing truly worked, and nothing was made specifically for wrestlers, grapplers, and fighters — especially kids with sensitive skin like Chase.

How Neutral Zone Clean Started

With the help of our expert formulator, Sara, we broke down every issue athletes face after training: irritation, breakout risks, mat funk exposure, harsh products, and the need for something fast, safe, and effective. Together, we rebuilt the idea of hygiene for combat athletes.
